Here we go!

Thanks to two very generous donors we have been able to expand our goals and ministries at The Everett and Austin Project, Inc. Many, many thanks!!

Our core team members – Paul & Josh, Rich & Celia & Tim – prayed at length and had very good discussions about these kind and generous gifts.

We are all very excited and thankful. God is good!

We were told not to be shy. So here is what we came up with in response to the directive to ask for a donation to cover specific needs to give to. We actually came up with 4 pressing needs that we all felt.

We put them in order of importance and priority, with number 1 being the most important and highest priority. Here they are:

1. A car in Uganda to help us get around and take care of each of the urgent needs of our children without having to rent a vehicle every time which is expensive. Cost: $5000 to $7000 – $7000 would be a better vehicle.

2. 4 wheelchairs for children with muscular dystrophy in Kyaninga near Fort Portal in Uganda. The 4 children are able to use wheelchairs while they are at school, but they do not have their own wheelchair to use at home when they leave school. Cost: $600.

3. A “foodstuff shop” for sustainable income for our new friend Bola Aninashaun in Lagos Nigeria. Her son is named Taiwo and he has Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. He is age 14. Cost: $500.

4. A homestead for children who are disabled to include 10 rooms for 20 children (2 children per room), 2 admin rooms, a store, a kitchen and security room. Cost: roughly $22,000.

The total cost for all 4 things is $30,100. I have added that to the total that we are now raising for Mission Uganda 2. There is a progress thermometer in the sidebar of each page of the website.

Our new goal that we are currently raising is now $40,100. Please pray with us as we try to reach this goal and meet these specific needs. And if you feel led to donate to the cause, please click on the “donate” button which is on each page of the website.

We praise the Lord for how far we have come in so short a time. God is good. Please leave any questions or comments below. We would love to engage with you on all of this.

Correction: an earlier version of this story showed that the new total that we are raising is $39,100, That is incorrect. The new total is actually $40,100 since the vehicle we are purchasing is not $6000 but $7000. Thank you for your understanding.

I'm a born-again christian, sold out to serving the needs of the less fortunate and in Sub-Saharan Africa. I founded The Everett and Austin Project in October 2018 to honor my 2 boys posthumously by helping people living in poverty going thru Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy and other rare diseases. My sons each died of Duchenne, Austin in 2012 at age 16 and Everett in 2017 at age 22.
