Thank you everybody for your support. At this very moment between this fund and the GoFundMe account, we are only $125 short of the $3000 fundraiser goal. Fees so far have been $60 to withdraw funds. So if you add that, it’s $185 plus another $40 or so for the remaining fees.

The success of this campaign has been thrilling. And it has also encouraged me in the desire to turn this into a bigger project.

Based on feedback and advice from others, The Everett and Austin Project needs to be focused on Muscular Dystrophy and Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy in particular.

I think that these are some very basic goals of The Everett and Austin Project:

  1. Support those who are going through the difficult disease, both the children and also the parents.
  2. Create more awareness of what Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy is.
  3. Contribute financially toward Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy research and push toward treatments and a cure
  4. Helping the poor affected by Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy, especially those in 3rd world countries.

Amazingly, this disease affects 1 in 5000 males at birth. Who knew it was so common?

I'm a born-again christian, sold out to serving the needs of the less fortunate and in Sub-Saharan Africa. I founded The Everett and Austin Project in October 2018 to honor my 2 boys posthumously by helping people living in poverty going thru Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy and other rare diseases. My sons each died of Duchenne, Austin in 2012 at age 16 and Everett in 2017 at age 22.
